Housing/Community Development

Southwest Community Development Corporation

Seniors are the anchor of this Southwest Philadelphia neighborhood, but are finding it harder to live independently in their rowhouses as they grow older. The Collaborative completed a feasibility study and conceptual design to redevelop two vacant lots as affordable housing for seniors and families and create a new neighborhood gateway. The study also recommends clean-ups, health fairs, and flea markets to engage the community and activate the sites prior to redevelopment.
