West Philadelphia Coalition of Neighborhood Schools

Parents, students, teachers, and neighbors of this West Philadelphia elementary school placed special emphasis on greening the playground, where students line up to enter the school and play each day. The Collaborative’s conceptual plan led to a $242,000 stormwater improvement management grant from the Philadelphia Water Department and several additional small grants for environmental and community improvements.
