St. Peter's Episcopal Church congregation approached the Collaborative for help developing a master plan to guide renovations to their 170-year-old church building in 2007. They hope to better serve the needs of their growing membership and the surrounding community. The church needs to become more user-friendly, handicapped accessible and sustainable, all without compromising the original gothic architecture which has earned the church a place on the National Register of Historic Districts. The Collaborative's team of design professionals performed a structural assessment that determined that the building was sound, developed a plan for making the facilities handicapped-accessible, and found ways to upgrade the building's heating and cooling systems to ensure sustainability. St. Peter's is using the Collaborative's work to lay the groundwork for a fundraising campaign.
